shots worth sharing 1 Posted August 29, 2007 Thanks for your kind comments, Julio! Like yours, I took this about 8 years ago (you can see some more recent photos of the subject, Clara, in my portfolio). It was scanned from negative but I have to confess that the original is just as grainy. Perhaps more than any other, this image convinced me that I should try to go beyond taking snapshots and start taking photographs and I think it will always be my favorite. The key to the image, I think, is the shadow beneath her left foot which ties the footprints behind her to the smooth sand ahead--that and her obvious intention to "make her mark." Link to comment
dianadeaver 0 Posted November 3, 2007 Clara is so precious here! So much symbolism, so much grace...perfectly captured! Link to comment
shots worth sharing 1 Posted November 3, 2007 Much appreciated, Diana! Finding this in my snapshots from the beach was really an OMG moment. Of course, I now wish I had been shooting with my current kit but , no matter what I do in the future, this will always be one of my finest. On second thought, it occurs to me that, if had shot this with my k100d and the Tamron 18-250, I might well have zoomed in too far and lost the open space that's so essential to this image.
