New fires broke out frequently, as embers were carried by the wind. More than 170 fires raged across the country, from the western Ionian islands to Ioannina in northwestern Greece and down to the south. At least 25 fires started long after dark, leading authorities to look into arson as a cause... Link to comment

dnf 1 Posted September 2, 2007 My deepest sympathy to the people of Greece. On our sadness, people of Croatia knows what is massive forest fires. Before few days our 7 firefighters lost lifes in fire and 5 more is in very bad condition. We sent to Greece one of our four aircraft for help. Link to comment
