aslavihervuori 0 Posted August 28, 2007 Nice photo. Looks like he is going o fly. High contrast between Subjects (I count shadow as a subject, too) and background ensures my eye is caught. Placing is also good as Subject has some roon in front of him (to fly). No ratings, as I do not them anymore. a s l a Link to comment

LenMarriott 9 Posted October 6, 2008 Kamran, OK, so not the 'Professional' critique you would prefer (see 'Casual Conversations' forum -http://photo.net/casual-conversations-forum/00R4af) but, though an amature, I've been around the block a few times, know what I like, & will add this to the mix: I applaud your creative use of the Photoshop feature to curve the horizon line. I wasn't even aware that was possible. Chalk up one on the learning curve. The most striking feature of this for me is your decision to convert to B&W. For some reason I can't describe, to me this is much more dramatic than your colour version. Nothing but tones and shapes, and a little texture thanks to the side\back lighting. Middle of Nowhere! Reminds me of the movie 'Gerry'. Fine effort. Sorry, no suggestions on how to improve or make stronger. You did that when you converted to B&W. Best, LM. Link to comment
kamush1664878711 0 Posted October 7, 2008 Dear Len... I'm very sorry if I said something wrong... Please don't think I'm discarding your admiration... I really appreciate sincere thoughts and opinions like yours... Please, but please don't take it personally... My sigh is for those ratings that I can't understand the reason why I got them... So I'm really glad and happy with you comment. Thank you very much my friend... Regards.... Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted October 8, 2008 Kamran, In my opinion ratings without comments are useless & should be largely discounted by the receiver. Personally I never rate nor do I seek ratings on my own offerings. I feel comments are the most important element because they take time, effort, and THOUGHT ! I found nothing in your previous text offensive so sleep soundly :-). You have a great portfolio which will take many return visits to fully appreciate. Got you bookmarked! Best, LM. Link to comment
