Cliche photos....but I like taking them too! I spent time with two species yesterday. They're like flowers, easy to capture beauty but difficult to make stand out because it has been done so many times before.I like your version here. Good detail in the body but the wing tips could be a bit sharper. Nicely presented on the angular stalk.

Butterflies are not easy subject but the way this one landed on the lovely floral is nice. ( But I feel there is too much space on the right. I would prefer a vertical crop. Just my own personal preference. )

The background ideally works together with your filigree...

I love the fact the butterfly is almost black and white against the colorful flower and subdued but pretty background. That, to me, makes this a more unique shot. The clarity is there and I like the composition too. There is a stillness in the subjects that are offset by the movement I feel is suggested in the background.

Usually I'm not so big on bird and butterfly pictures but this one seems so delicate and almost sculpturally balanced it caught my attention. The graphic, almost monotone markings of the wings contrasted with the pinata-like color of the flower makes for a very nice compsosition.

Nature has so many forms of presentations, so even it was done so many times, there is always more new paths to try and "walk" in them....
