Mother in 1946

home page1

The photographer is unknown. The equipment is whatever was available before or during 1946. Given the age of the photo, lots of editing was necessary to produce what you see.

My mother was 23 years old at the time and working as a medical

technician. Retouching this was challenging but fun.

Ken, this is an important thing you are doing. First, you are preserving an image that is incredibly valuable to your family. Second, I think it is important for these images to be seen by all of us too. These are important archives of life in our country, and it means a lot to see the people who made the world good for all of us today. She looks like a wonderful woman. There's another guy on PN who is doing this with a lot of his dad's pictures from his Navy days in the south Pacific. Very nice work! Cheers! Chris

Ed and I have done some restoration, too, for other people and for ourselves. As important to do as creating photos in the first place as it preserves moments in time we will never know on a personal level.

Many things will change, but memories will always stay the same. Thanks for reminding all of us of what's really important. ^_^
