The the foreground the figure is clearly defined, and the look on his face shows obvious concentration. I am distracted by the background subject for a few reasons. The first is because he is wearing black, he becomes a floating head without a body. The second is that his uninteresting facial expression competes with the main subject's. Also, the guitar becomes a merger with the main subject's elbow. I think you could greatly improve this photograph by taking out the background figure. I think with just simply black, negitive space, this photograph would besome a lot more compelling. Link to comment
