Jim, thanks, I really don't remember the name, as language barriers were very hard, but it is a beautiful music tool and well demonstrated there.

I wonder how many people that are rating low (without explaining why ) don't understand what photography and beauty means... A really fa**** system....

A rare find,Pnina. Very good exposure,DOF,light and composition. In India, we have such musical instruments, played with folk songs.

PLEASE do not pay any attention to ratings,if you do not want to poison your peace and creativity. The 3/3 people are interested in testing your patience or provoking you. Cultivate stoic temperament:-)SHALOM

Thanks Amal and David, for understanding the beauty of that ethnic tool.

Amal my friend, I really don't pay attention to the rating, and I stoped using it.I ask for critique because sometime it attract other members that understand quality, photography, aesthetoc etc.. But I still think that if the 3/3's are the FIRST to enter sometime even before I finished writing my explanation.... It lets me think that this rating system is a fa**** up system...., so I write what I think.....

Thanks for your concern Amal, you don't have to be, I'm perfectly fine. Shalom to you too!

Pnina, a lovely shot of this unusual instrument. The surroundings add a bit of interest as well. Wonder what it would look like in BW? Reminds me of a scene you might see in a hunting lodge or a farmers home in the mountain area of my home. db

A very interesting & rare musical instrument. Beautiful in forms & you have exposed & present this beautifully.

I would love to hear the music from this beautiful instrument, Pnina. As usual, I love the colors and tones of your work, and the braids, detailing and perspective are so good here as well. The bow resembles a ballerina leg and foot--very unique!

Thanks Daniel, I like it as is because the colors and material( kind of leather of some animal) are not less interesting than the music it produces

I think B/W will loose something of its natural beauty. color and authencity....

Thanks Cherlyn, you have traveled too, I think you know how interesting it is to discover all the finds of another culture, art and life...

Donna, thank you too, you are right ! that is what was interesting for me too.. it looks like a dancing leg....

Pnina, well seen. Looks like goat skin leather to me, would be a pleasure to hear the traditional music played on it.......Jim

Very nice and intriguing capture. The shape is so unique and I agree with Donna's comment about the leg and foot, but also the top detail looks to me like hands opening up like in praying.

Thanks to all of you, for undrstanding the beauty of that music instrument. ( Jim, I don't know, but you may be right about the skin in this one)

Jack my dear, you think like me.... after my long dialogue with Vermeers's work of art... ;-))

here

(It is a part of this painting, which is called "The Note" )

A wonderful still life. You have captured the musical nature of this object with lighting, shadow, composition, color tone, and heart. Very nicely done.

waoaw...the light and DoF is really fantastic...it transforms this beauty into something more mystic...well paraphrasing the image you don't have only one cord to your bow....

A very nice capture. The strong "verticals" keep the eye moving along. If this is indeed a variation of a lute, it is one of my favorite instruments. My father had a friend who played a similar instrument with a bow.

Nicely done.

Thanks all of you, I don't know if it is a replica of a lute Jeff, but it is a very beautiful piece of art, not only because of the music, but the artistic form it has!

Not much to add ... this is a wonderful image, very nicely presented ... the verticals work well. My eye wants to see a little bit more of the top of the instrument, but it's not crucial.
