I like this very much. Will you post the original so we can see the process? How did you do it? It looks so luminous, super!

Here's the original shot. I use many techniques in PS to get this effect. As always, many layers. I never seem to get the same result so the technique changes depending on the flower.

Post this one again near the end of October. Yes, my first thought was that of a pumpkin too. I love this color and the distortion, it is all quite pleasing to me.

I agree, these are fun to create. However, I need to learn how to do layers. Maybe someday...."maybe." Another of your great abstracts!

Thanks for visiting, everyone. Joan, you definitely need to learn layers - it opens up a whole new world in PS!!! Lou Ann, I was hoping you would find this one. Dennis, the Award Banquet is today, but we didn't get a letter (all winners received a letter), so we know we didn't win anything! :( They will post the winners to the website this afternoon at 2:00 so you can go see what did win. It's at wildlife photo contest

We're not too upset; there were a lot of REALLY great photographs that won. It was all about capturing a "moment in time" that was unique. We also found out a lot of the shots that won were staged. We pretty much shot nature as it was. I don't know if we'll want to do staged nature shots next time - it just doesn't seem quite right to me. We enjoyed doing the contest and likely will do it again in 2 years.
