kslonaker 0 Posted August 19, 2007 Ed said it reminded him of a pumpkin, too. Maybe I should have changed the color!!! Link to comment

joe-tury 0 Posted August 19, 2007 Definately a pumpkin. No,do not change the colours. Very cool ps work! Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted August 20, 2007 I like this very much. Will you post the original so we can see the process? How did you do it? It looks so luminous, super! Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted August 20, 2007 Here's the original shot. I use many techniques in PS to get this effect. As always, many layers. I never seem to get the same result so the technique changes depending on the flower. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted August 21, 2007 A number of techniques to get this effect. Comments welcome - thanks! Link to comment
markboyer 0 Posted August 22, 2007 It's been awhile since we had one of these. I love every single one of them, and this is no exception. Link to comment
slonaker 0 Posted August 22, 2007 now if she can just get a "candle glow" effect going from the inside.... :) Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted August 24, 2007 Post this one again near the end of October. Yes, my first thought was that of a pumpkin too. I love this color and the distortion, it is all quite pleasing to me. Link to comment
joanbn 0 Posted August 25, 2007 I agree, these are fun to create. However, I need to learn how to do layers. Maybe someday...."maybe." Another of your great abstracts! Link to comment
dennis jones 0 Posted August 25, 2007 always in the learning mode.... Well done Kim...Any news on the contest? Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted August 25, 2007 I LOVE your distorted flowers!! This almost has a fall feel to it ... with the great orange color! More, please!! :-) Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted August 25, 2007 Thanks for visiting, everyone. Joan, you definitely need to learn layers - it opens up a whole new world in PS!!! Lou Ann, I was hoping you would find this one. Dennis, the Award Banquet is today, but we didn't get a letter (all winners received a letter), so we know we didn't win anything! :( They will post the winners to the website this afternoon at 2:00 so you can go see what did win. It's at wildlife photo contest Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted August 25, 2007 Oh, so sorry, Kim! I know that you put a lot of time and energy into that contest. :-( Link to comment
dennis jones 0 Posted August 26, 2007 You are a winner with us, Kim... You and Ed, keep having fun and posting your work... Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted August 26, 2007 We're not too upset; there were a lot of REALLY great photographs that won. It was all about capturing a "moment in time" that was unique. We also found out a lot of the shots that won were staged. We pretty much shot nature as it was. I don't know if we'll want to do staged nature shots next time - it just doesn't seem quite right to me. We enjoyed doing the contest and likely will do it again in 2 years. Link to comment
kcole 0 Posted August 26, 2007 Awesome shot, especially after seeing what you started with! Love seeing all of your creative goodies:) Cole Link to comment
