jeffl7 0 Posted August 17, 2007 A hackneyed phrase, but nothing beats a room with a view. Every shot you take is beautiful warped, nostalgically humorous, or tear-jerkingly disturbed, God bless your soul. I mean this as highest praise. I truly find something unusual, entertaining, or gosh-darn jaw-dropping in every shot. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted August 17, 2007 Thanks you, Jeff, I will defer to your comment and piggyback on your critique. Excellent as always, David. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 17, 2007 Thanks. What a treat to see comments from a couple of my favorite photographers. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 19, 2007 Once again I'm indebted to you for looking and commenting. The rating? Well, that's nice too. Link to comment
laurentlacoste 0 Posted September 4, 2007 I see what you mean now David. A great classic shot, as classic as those you could see in 70s movies about the Old West . I can imagine Mr Eastwood pointing his six-shot gun through that window and waiting for some rascal to come riding downhill. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted September 5, 2007 Yeah, it does have the old west feel to it. I find the torn screen to be the most interesting facet of the image. Only the ghosts remain to tell us of this place. Link to comment
hultstrom1 0 Posted September 5, 2007 It is no doubt a good picture, but sometimes the title just gives that extra push. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted September 5, 2007 Hello. Thanks for commenting. If you know my work, you would know that I am big on titles. I think words are an art form too, and when I can combine words with pictures, I am most happy. But you are right in that an image should not depend on a title or an explanation to be successful. It must be able to stand on its own. Cheers Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted January 27, 2009 This one came up on the sidebar and I revisited it. If anything, I appreciate it more now than when I fist viewed it. I hope things are fine with you. When I don't see anything new from old friends for awhile, I start to worry. Link to comment
laurent_jaussi 0 Posted March 1, 2009 I love the old dry wood texture and color...what remains of the curtain (anti-moskito ?) is a nice bonus...I also like how the band of blue sky is playing a kind of visual anchor.... Link to comment
