Nice shot, Julius! I like the carriage most of all. The horse is lost in the highlights, but it works for me here, especially because of the way you treated the edges. I get the feeling that the whole shot is fading away and that the only tangible thing left is the carriage itself. I like that effect. I'm curious how a sepia or quadtone version would look. Just a thought.

Thank you ~ all.
Darren ~ Your comment makes me happy. I was going for a "vintage look, but not quite.. ". I guess it worked.
John ~ I am glad this reminds you of Williamsburg! This is from Williamsburg.
Leslie ~ Why don't you try the sepia or quad tone version? I'd love to see what you come up with.
All ~ The attached is the original. Am I doing ok with post processing?.

I like it bbecause you made it feel like the holiday time. Very, oh what is that word. Norman Rockwell(ish) or whatever those COOKIES are that everyone gets.

I like the fele that there is snow on the ground even if there isn't.

I also like the fact that I know in an instant that it IS Christmas time. You feel it in the air.

I also llike the smooth edges.

You did a FINE job on this. I only wish I could see SNOW in FLORIDA :(

Your original has just the right snap and pop. Currier and Ives anyone? Great shot and very nice, very appropriate, very well done, and very creative post processing work. It makes total sense to me and I love the image. Is that a headless horse?

Thank You ~ All.

Leslie ~ I really like your "tritone 1". I was hoping that you'd try it on the original [unedited version].

Shuki ~ Yes indeed, when I was much younger :O)

THis is beautiful - I love the vignetting you've given also - so appropriate for this image! NOw - the nitpick... where is the horses head? hahahaha I presume his head is bowed down - just wish it had been up and visible.

I would have done this with an even more antique feel to it. I'm glad you did it your way. It so clean this way. It's like looking at an old photo, but looking at it when it was originally shot instead of years later. It really works for me!
