El Capitan Yosemite

Great Shot Leo. questions? Is this coming out of the tunnel? Haven't been to Yosemite yet, but, have been doing a ton of reading and google earth on it. Did you ever get to meet Ansel? High Marks on this shot because composition, tonal range and the depth is fantastic..RAY

Yes, the place is called "Inspiration Point" and it overlooks the whole valley. Ansel Adam's "Clearing Winter Storm" was taken from this very place. I used a 300mm Schneider lens with a light red filter to capture this image. Unfortunately I never met Ansel but I have taken workshops with John Sexton, Ansel's assistant for many years. A simple photograph but "El Capitan" speaks volumes in it's magnificence.

A classic iconic image, deftly handled, Leo. Wonderful black and white, excellent contrasts and tones. A 7/6 for me. Cheers! Chris
