acurlee 0 Posted August 15, 2007 Every picture is supposed to tell a story. After you hear the story, I hope this picture does it justice. Let me tell you a story about Riggs. Riggs is an 8 year old Malinois, who for that last 5 years has served as a police dog protecting his city. Riggs has found millions of dollars worth of narcotics, found criminals hiding, found lost people when no others could, and his favorite job being loved on by hundreds of school children. Riggs has worked in the bowels of his city in the dark, most of the time with only his handler by his side. Riggs has been fearless and relentless in the face of evil. In times when even his handler was scared all it took was the warm nudge of his muzzle and the look in his eyes, and his handler knew that no matter what Riggs would get him home. Riggs worked for the love of his handler. Riggs has grown old and is having to face the fact that he has slowed down, grown a little weaker, and that it is his time to enjoy just being a dog. Riggs is now. having to watch is handler go to work with another partner and wondering if the new dog will do the job as well as he did and bring his handler home safe. So here is Riggs looking over his city, standing in the middle of the evil and his handler and the people who live here, most of the time asleep and unaware of how he made them safer. Link to comment
