lleben 0 Posted August 15, 2007 This is a beautiful shot Gabi, but the longer I look at it, the more I feel you should compose things a bit differently. Maybe you shoud move a few steps to the left so the grass would still appear, but more to the right side of the scene, not covering the sun. These are just my thougts, I hope you don't mind. Best wishes, Ludvik. Link to comment

richygale 0 Posted August 16, 2007 Very good I like the bird and the reflected light in the lake is super, I would of maybe moved to the left slightly so the sun was to one side of the bush. Well done Rich. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted August 16, 2007 I like the sun obscured. Your version keeps the orange reflection dancing and intermingling with the grasses and their dark shadows. This contrast gives some life. I think separating the sun from the grass would be less dynamic. Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted August 16, 2007 Excellent use of the foreground grasses for interest, every book on composition I've ever read said that's an important ingredient in a successful image, so well done Gabi. I'm like Jeff, I like the sun slightly obscured, and I can't quite decide if I like the single bird or not?! I think I'd clone out the bird as it's not a real factor in the composition or subject of the photo but my eye has a tendency to wander up there. The reflections on the water are the "cream" of this image. Here's a quote you'll like, I found it on Philip Turner's PN site. "Rating without comment is prescription without diagnosis which is considered malpractice." Howard Dion Link to comment
jasonmiller 0 Posted August 17, 2007 Stunning shot. I love the red sky and the contrast between the whole picture and the frame. Well done! Link to comment
