cela 0 Posted August 16, 2007 y would you do that photography is a beautiful thing. it lets people see something the way you see it they wouldn't otherwise. the plane is a good shot but the trucks in the background bother the eye because it takes away from your subject slightly. but i like the sunset. also the photo's just a little too dark. only takes minor tweaks to make this one a lot better. dangoldman 0 Posted August 18, 2007 Airplane photography on this site can be pretty hit or miss. This is a good photo, and if the BG were pure, would be great. But the truck and hangars are troublesome to me. This is certainly not below average though. To combat distracting backgrounds, i usually do tight crops and get very low to the ground and shoot up. johnoberry 0 Posted August 26, 2007 Your comments and suggestions mean a lot. I just get frustrated with the mindless soul that can't talk the time to justify a substandard rating with a few words. A couple of years ago the background here would not have been an issue. But that is progress. Thanks again, John Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted August 27, 2007 John, I don't find the truck and hangar detracting from the subject because they ARE part of the subject. The airplane is well placed and not 'interfering' with the hangar or the truck. This is a story about an airport, not just an airplane. I would lighten it the slightest bit to bring out detail in the darkest corners, yet maintaining that early morning (?) atmosphere. And don't photograph to please others, only to please yourself. johnoberry 0 Posted October 2, 2007 You are right, it is more about the area as a whole. And, Sunset... Skydivers rarely see the sunrise unless it is because they have not gone to bed... lol... (Not all.... ;-), but lots) Link to comment
