petemillis 0 Posted August 13, 2007 Fantastic image Claire. I really like pictures that show the contrast between a weathered exterior and a fresh exterior. Because there is not a large contrast between the colours of the subject+clothing and the background then the eye is drawn more toward textures which works really well. The image should also work well in BW. My only slightly negative comment would concern the composition in that it includes that yellow plastic bag on top of the cupboard at top right of the image. In colour it is a bit distracting. This could be resolved by either showing the image in BW or by cropping a tiny bit to cut it out. Great shot though. Pete Link to comment
petemillis 0 Posted August 13, 2007 Claire, please only listen to my 6 for aesthetics and excuse the 4 for originality. The 4 is in no way meant to put the image down but is my honest opinion of how it fits in with other images with respect to orginality :) Link to comment

lonebearimages 0 Posted August 14, 2007 IMHO, this might be one of the best images in the folder, Claire. I think what I like about it so much is that it really illustrates what Cuba is now - a country full of wonderful human beings, and this little girl represents the changes that may come with bright eyes and youthful optimism; and that Cuba is a little 'rough around the edges' and could use a new coat of paint, so to speak. Well, I'm probably thinking too much. But it is a hell of a composition and exposure. Cheers! Chris Link to comment
