I like to take a piece of black mat board to the Botannical Garden specifically for the orchids. They tend to be in places with a busy background and often wires, too. Their foliage often isn't appealing. Your background is minimally distracting, though, so you did good. Is this your plant or was it somewhere else?

Thanks for the tip. This was at the Cincinnati conservatory. I used a wide aperture and a long focal length to blur the bg. I may have also added blur with PS. I can't remember for sure.
