David, this has the makings of a great shot but it looks unnaturally light under the body and wings. I suspect you were using flash with a bit too much power or perhaps overcompensated a bit for the blue sky. I would be interested to know what the circumstances were. Great shot but just that bit overexposed for my eye.

Hi Paul, There was no flash used here. The lighting is from snow on the ground which reflects a lot of light. The image looks exactly as my eye saw it when the image was made. I love that about snow on the ground in the winter, works better than fill flash!
