pnital 36 Posted August 4, 2007 Found her in one of the streets of Montenegro trying to sell somethings. It reminded me one of the stories of my childhood... the title is the name of the story... Life and art : here Link to comment

amalsircar 2 Posted August 5, 2007 Very good composition, exposure, and colours,Pnina. I feel sad for her because when she will be playing and smiling, she is sad and selling items for her survival.Life's like that. Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted August 5, 2007 One look at your image also reminds me of Hans Christian Anderson's "The Litle Match Girl". I hope she has fares better than the girl in the story. A very natural & realistic street shot that makes me lament on the fact that she needs to earn a living at so young a age. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 5, 2007 Thanks to all of you. Yes, life is not always easy, but she was nice and clean and well dressed , So I hope her fait IS a better one than HCA story. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted August 5, 2007 This strikes a blow agains the idealized version of childhood most of us carry in our heads. I'm very aware that many children begin working very hard at a very young age, while children in other places are pampered and coddled. Of course, any interpretation of who this little girl might be would be purely projection, but she exudes some strength of spirit. I hope that this strength buoys her through life. Great, thoughtful shot. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 5, 2007 Thanks Pawel, nice to see you again, is there another meeting in "Yad Vashem "this year? Thanks Biswajite, Yes it touched me deeply also. Thanks Jef, you are so right about the different childhood our children are having. I have traveled a lot, and know how hard life can be for children in other countries on the glob. And Yes, history has a tendency to repeat itself, I see it even in my family.... Link to comment

aepelbacher 0 Posted August 8, 2007 Yes, it definitely touched me! It's difficult to imagine a child who has to sell things on the street. I wonder how some of our American video-game-addicted kids would do when faced with a life like that. She is really so very beautiful ... love the eyes!! Link to comment
