sonneland 0 Posted August 3, 2007 Good to see you about, had began to think you had gone walk about or bush. Interesting flower this one, looks like a dual purpose sort of flower, when your tired of looking at it you can pop your hood open and use as a oil filter!! Link to comment
bertr 0 Posted August 3, 2007 you are confusing me with "Crocodile Dundee"...he went for a "walk about"... Being of good Austrian stock, I simply would go "spazieren"...I hope that you liked the other pictures of "Dipsacus Silvestris" (this is my scientific side showing through...)It was 34 degrees Celsius in the shade, when I went "spazieren" in a conservation area near Toronto. (20 mins by car) ...in a clearing I saw this marvellous plant...I am not certain if it would function well as an oil filter...whatever gave you this idea???....Bert Link to comment
sonneland 0 Posted August 4, 2007 Perhaps I should have said a old oil filter, remember the ones that were made of cardboard, they looked like the center of this flower. I have something to share with you, you probably already know the man and his story. Its Paul Potts, the man who entered the English talent show and sang opera and totally knocked everyones socks off. I am not a huge fan of opera, but when I first saw this the tears just started rolling. Living where we do we sometimes are a bit behind the times, so you and who ever else may read this probably already Know the man and his story, but if by some chance you don't, have a look at these preferably in order, and enjoy!! Nice to have you back, I thought perhaps you were doing some experimental gardening of your own.........roger Shortcut to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oxTy7KIAaA Shortcut to: Shortcut to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blwyFKn2aLk&mode=related&search= Shortcut to: Link to comment
bertr 0 Posted August 4, 2007 for directing me to Paul Potts...what a talent...and that over my lousy computer speakers...what he must sound like with good speakers or Live... Simply great...vocally almost as good as you are with a camera... Bert Link to comment
bertr 0 Posted August 4, 2007 I am truly sorry, Roger, but in my time they built cars out of metal...iron and steel...the cardboard variety must have been earlier...Bert Link to comment
sonneland 0 Posted August 5, 2007 Now Bert......If I remember rightly, we dated you back to the slab of rock & chisel days.......Cardboard was still in the future..........I thought that Paul Potts was fantastic, just a real feel good story.......now I am headed back to Gavdos to anwser your comments about the cameras..........see ya there!! bertr 0 Posted August 5, 2007 I wish this man would change his name: Each time I hear or read it I think of Pol Pott. .......Bert Link to comment
