manut 0 Posted August 1, 2007 You make the everyday things look so special. Great portfolio and great work. And also, you take too many stops during the journey :-) Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 1, 2007 Thanks for looking and commenting. Manu, I truly appreciate your going through my portfolio. As for too many stops, I'm sure my wife would heartily agree with you. Peace. Link to comment
alight 0 Posted August 1, 2007 if Wisdom is downstream on Wise River, then everything is OK. Funny photo. The hills in the back look kinda bare. Do you think there is a place that is actually called V8? Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
Emmanuel Enyinwa 0 Posted August 1, 2007 What I'm trying to figure out is why the guy in the truck is going the opposite way. Maybe, he just made it to Wise River and, like Columbus, believed he was at Wisdom, and could't wait to go show off his limited knowledge. The simpleton. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted August 2, 2007 Only you, David, could make a roadsign into such a singular work of art and give us a chuckle at the same time. Outstanding. This really is a GREAT shot. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 2, 2007 Or maybe, like too many in this country (and the world for that matter) he just didn't care about Wisdom. That's not all that uncommon you know. Some people run from it. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 2, 2007 Nothing to it. Zoomed past at 60 MPH, caught a glimpse, mulled it over in my mind, said, "That's a photo" and flipped a hasty U turn. Hell the wife doesn't even ask "What the hell?" anymore. Link to comment
laurent_jaussi 0 Posted August 2, 2007 I like the message/humour, the composition with depth and colours mix, the light...quite a long list of nice properties for a humour shot...ha and the red truck coming back from wise or wisdom is a wondeful addition...:-)... Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 2, 2007 Thanks. I love this kind of lowbrow humor, as you can tell from having seen many of my images. Link to comment
radioactive 0 Posted August 3, 2007 it takes longer to get to wisdom than it does to get to wise. _____________________ On your other comment... I can only imagine what your wife thinks now-a-days. Its kind of like living with an addict I bet. Just let him take the picture and lets get back on the road.LOL Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 3, 2007 But there are those who drink from the waters of wise, yet verily I say unto you they attain not wisdom. (Had a nice ring to it, and I could not help myself.) As for the wife, she has long since learned to carry a book with her at all times, and whenever I make one of these stops, she simply pulls out her book and contentedly reads away. It works out okay. lonebearimages 0 Posted August 21, 2007 Being an old guy who was born and raised in Montana, I can tell you that this shot brings back some seriously cool memories. When I was about 10 or 11, my dad took us camping up along the Wise River and I caught one of the biggest trout of my life on a fly rod with an old beat up Muddler minnow. It was about a 3.5 pound brook trout, it took me forever to get the fish up to the bank - he was huge! What was so damn funny, was that this old codger (older than me now) had spent 15 or 20 minutes artfully and delicately flyfishing this same stretch of water, he moved upstream, and here I come just flogging the water...God, I'll never forget the look on his face after I beached that trout! Thanks for bringing back the memory! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted August 22, 2007 Glad to have triggered some good memories. I can tell you this, that as we drove along this river, there were fly fishermen everywhere. I imagine that if I were one of them, I'd be a little pissed at so many others being there, but who knows. Maybe their philosophy is "The more the merrier." Thanks for stopping by. Link to comment
