10/10! Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted July 31, 2007 Very intriguing composition David. It seems like two different realities placed side by side. The subjects are concentrated into their own worlds and they are not aware of each other. Their settings are quite contrasting from each other, even opposite if you will. You invite us to become prying observers through this picture and we succumb to your tempting offer. On the outside there is a child playing and having fun. Perhaps this environment represents the extrovert nature of children who are not bound by rules and decorum. The red ballon might symbolize happiness that is attained through the simple things in life. Inside we encounter a darker and more demure setting. There is an adult contemplating some paintings or photographs. She is also having fun but in a less obvious way. As adults we are constantly aware of our environment and act accordingly. We can not express our emotions as freely as children because we have been conditioned to follow rules or are afraid to get hurt. We are introverts emotionally. The child occupies a big part of your picture. Maybe if we learn to see things from a child's perspective with more openess and less cynicism we can be freer and happier. Link to comment
j.k._york 0 Posted August 1, 2007 this took me a little while to sink into. very intriguing composite. Adan has hit on some key points rather well and I wish not to be redundant. is the adult in the gallery truely enjoying herself as much as child is playing with the ball? what i enjoy most about this is how you engage the viewer into a philosophical debate with themselves. a great thinking piece well executed. take care, J.K. pnital 36 Posted August 1, 2007 David, it is one of your best, juxtapositioned the world of childhood and the world of adults, each with his interesting action. I like the seizing of the moment, really very accurate! I like the lighted childhood side and the dim light of the adults. Real Geme! Link to comment

Emmanuel Enyinwa 0 Posted August 2, 2007 Adan nailed this one. The child's world is open, airy, and FUN; the adult world is dominated by darkness, analysis, competition, judgment, and VALUE as measured by strangers and others you have never met. The clever composition superimposes the child's world on the adult's, so that the adult is marginalized, pushed aside, if you will. A compelling composition, and certainly worthy of POW. jeffl7 0 Posted August 2, 2007 What a successful photo to have awakened such great minds and to have called up such deep analysis. I remember as a child thinking the world was huge. Everything had a sense of space and with it possibility. I recall feeling as if I could run and never stop. As an adult, the world seems smaller and more cramped. I'm still most of the time. I analyze too much of the time. This photo depicts this change well. It also serves as a good reminder of how to experience the truly joyful aspects of life such as art. Do I really wholeheartedly experience or grimly analyze...? Link to comment

hy 0 Posted August 3, 2007 I think there are three worlds. It's a "affocionado, player and the observer - triangle". Greatly captured, David. Best regards Link to comment
