The caption states the message for this unusual photo from a new

cineplex in a high-tech shopping center in what once was a mostly

backward city in retailing. And what do you see if you take a

careful look at the hand of the boy, right? Your ratings an

critiques are invited and most welcome. If you rate harshly or very

critically, please submit a helpful and constructive comment; please

share your superior photographic knowledge to help improve my

photography. Thanks! Enjoy! John

Is on anyone who looks at this and considers it only in the thumbnail size, for viewing in thumbnail size allows only one view unless your eyes are better than mine, and it's entirely at odds with the 'truth' of the photo, which is tromp l'oeil (mistake of the eye in French).

Look carefully at the hands; the jokes on us viewers (including me when I first viewed this in thumbnail). There is a lesson here, I think, about thumbnail evaluations . . . don't you?

Please rate as such, considering your initial response to this photo on seeing it thumbnail and your later response after seeing it 'blown up' to a viewable image.

Thanks.

I am sorry also, but I can't recall or locate the comment to which you're referring, unless, of course, you've removed or replaced it.

But don't worry about giving offense; I can defend myself and my photos (where they deserve defending -- some are better than others, and, in whole, the rating system does a rather good job of rating higher those photos which are better, and the worse ones, lower.

I have significant argument about some photos; with some 4/4 photos of mine I'd rate as high as the 6/6 photos or higher, but that's the exception rather than the rule.

I just went over my top 100 highest-rated photos, and I have little argument with the ratings for those. For the 'less popular' photos, I have some more argument, but it's all a matter of taste (and which raters are online - even which continent the raters are awake in during the time the photo was exposed to rating.

Ratings are best taken with a grain of salt, and I can detect the 'worth' of comments readily enough (generally), and I know how to stick up for myself and my photos -- so, if you wrote something that might have seemed offensive or to which I wrote a seemingly 'hostile' reply, that's all part of the business of exposing one's photos to the rating process in general. I don't really let it get under my skin; and I thank you for coming back and offering your explanation/apology.

Thanks again,
