yinkamd 0 Posted August 11, 2007 Thanks for the nice comments. I used a 3 stop graduated neutral density filter. Yinka Link to comment
stp 6 Posted August 11, 2007 Yinka, I doubt that this photo needed a GND. But if the sky really did need to be darkened, then it probably should have been done digitally rather than with an actual filter (for the reason that has been cited several times: that mountain sticking up in the air). Anything that protrudes part of the way into the GND is going to look odd (this often happens with trees). The digital alternative is to make two layers, darken one of them, and then blend them in a way that brings the best of both layers together (there are several ways to do this). Link to comment
yinkamd 0 Posted August 11, 2007 Stephen thanks for your constructive critique. The sky did need the GND. I have shots of the blown out sky without the GND, so I do know that. As for multiple exposures/RAW conversions with blending, I did take some shots with that too. Best wishes Yinka Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted August 11, 2007 Magnificent landscape excellently composed. I like the great DOF from the little flowers in the foreground up to the mountain. Great light and great sky. Link to comment
