susan stone 0 Posted July 31, 2007 I keep looking at this image and trying to understand why I like it so much more than the average bird shot?! It feels "pure", the blurring implies motion and the coloration implies the beauty of a bird, I think I like it so much for it's simplicity of form. Link to comment

lbattjes 0 Posted August 5, 2007 Oh, Janis, I'm with Susan on this one! I love the blur, and the color on the black bg. By traditional standards, I shouldn't like this, but I really do...it just holds my interest like some more traditional bird shots cannot. Very nice. Glad you posted it! :) Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 6, 2007 I, too, love it but there's a but. I love the starkness and the simplicity. The red form and its GLOW against the black background is so effective. But I'm thrown off by the lack of focus. If there were some sort of trail effect or some kind of motion suggested against some background, I think it would work. In this case, though, it doesn't suggest motion to me, it just looks blurry. IMO, because it is so stark and simple, I think a sharp focus would help this work better. Link to comment
