pnital 36 Posted July 26, 2007 The old city of Dubrovnik, that was built and kept from the middle ages, is a pearl of old architectute. It is surrounded with a wall. walking on the edges of the wall gives the viewer a whole look of thar quarter, which is special and unique.. Link to comment

cherlyn 1 Posted July 26, 2007 Definitely a good bird-eye's view of the city. Seems to be a gloomy day but you still manage to capture the light well. Looking forward to more of your new photos. Link to comment

andrzejp 7 Posted July 28, 2007 Excellent picture and very good observation. I like the contrast between roof lines and domed roofs. Link to comment
jim kerr 0 Posted July 28, 2007 Pnina, a beautiful view of the roof tops, seems like they are built to last. Probably will look the same 100 years from now.......Jim Link to comment
AJHingel 127 Posted July 28, 2007 Dear Pnina I hope you enjoyed your stay. I'm sure Dubrovnik will look the same a century from now, after those many centuries the city count in its history, unless they start fighting each other again. It received indeed some bombings during the civil war that partly destroyed one of the two major monasteries. It is a very beautiful city with uncountable scenes for good photographers like Pnina. This is a very typical view of the roofs and the traditional stone walls of the houses with the ancient Jesuit college up to the right. It is obviously taken in clouded weather and with mist over the sea that renders the forms and structures less distinctive and the colours less strong. I like it however because of its natural spell avoiding the oversaturated presentations of tourist photos. I would correct the slight tilt (as far as I can see early a Saturday morning !) of the tower of the cathedral tower. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted July 28, 2007 Thanks all of you, fot your feedback! Wilson, a surprise to see you again....;-)) it was taken at late afternon, the heat is so strong that there are no sky at all just white haze nearly everywhere..., soft end of day light. Anders, thank you , yes the view is breath taking. I loved the diferent chimneys they have in Montenegro and Dubrovnike and did a series of them.....There is no clouds in that time if year, very hot and hazy all day long..... Thanks for your wide interpretation. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted July 30, 2007 This is my kind of shot! An urban landscape. It's beautiful with all of the roofs the same color. Very nicely done! Link to comment
