regis 0 Posted July 25, 2007 Hello Again. This is a very fresh photo of mine. Taken just few days ago on my short evening trip to South Ayrshire coast. This time the weather was not so much "cooperative" like few days before. That's why instead of wide vistas I decided to search for some close-up compositions with strong foreground interest. When exploring the rocky coast I found these water pools. The biggest one you see was really a deep one - full of shells, seaweeds and some tiny creatures. My first thought about it was - legendary Atlantis :) Balancing on the steep and slippery rock I had to be very careful not to explore it's ancient mysteries by bumping into it :) When I finally found a spot for my shot and after setting the camera on the tripod the sky cleared for a little while presenting some gorgeus colours. Hope you'll like it. Your comments/critiques much appreciated Link to comment

ronald_capasso 0 Posted July 25, 2007 Nicely composed and exposed. The egg shaped cave has me looking inside for sea creatures... it really holds my interest. 7/6 Link to comment

regis 0 Posted July 26, 2007 Thank you all for your comments. I really appreciate it ! I see we have a whole spectrum of rates here :) Too bad the low ones always come from the people 'behind the curtain' - without any explaination whatsoever :/ I really don't mind low marks - but only when they come with some honest and factual critique behind them. richygale 0 Posted July 26, 2007 Piotr, superb forground I like the compositoin with this intresting pool. The sky is great, I think the sea still looks real which works better than the mist effect you get on long shutter speeds, so well done. Rich. Link to comment
regis 0 Posted July 26, 2007 Richard Thank you for your comment. I'm not especially keen on long exposure shots. Moreover - I didn't find it useful in this scene. I wanted the shutter to be fast enough not to spoil the sky (clouds were moving quite fast - and long shutter speeds were resulting in some unpleasant results). I did, however, some shots with longer exposures but I am pleased the most with this one. Cheers, Piotr Link to comment
