I am always amazed when I go to an Art museum & see the amazing oil paintings that where painted on wood instead of canvas.

I took this with the 20D. I am posting the original. I lightly outlined each petal then smoothed it out with a "Blender" brush in Painter. I added some space on the left for aesthetics. Changed to sepia with a PS action filter, then used Auto FX mystical shadow play to add my shadow in the background. Once it was completed I used a custom texture I had created by taking an image of a knot in the wood of my Grandmother's antique walnut table (which at present is doubling not only as my informal dining table but as a place to cut mats, I'm taking a framing class :)

This one will be hanging in our daughter's dining room :) I think? She hasn't decided yet! My husband & kids are my harshest critics. You all are very mild compared to them :)
