Very nice Len. Nicely lit, and I like the way the one soccer ball is singled out against the abstract of the other balls beneath the netting. The diagonal lines give the whole thing a nice flow too. I would prefer that the dark triangle in the TR corner wasn't there.

Jim, Thanks for your thoughts. This was a quick grab shot taken as found at my grandson's recent soccer game. The light was low & soft from a setting sun, providing the low contrast lighting which enabled details to be revealed throughout. Cropping out(and I did try) the triangle, upper right, placed the ball too close to the corner for me so I decided to live with it. Except for that small nit I think I captured the essence of what first attracted me. Probably a better image than the action shots I was hoping to get. :-( Best, LM.

Len, It IS a nice image despite the upper R triangle . you could fix it quite easy I think with PS....but even so I like the in/out balls, and the yellow net separating them.

Pnina, Your views & advice are always appreciated. The balls in the bag represent the goals, so far, scored against our team & the outside ball represents the goal against the other team that we someday hope to achieve. :-) Best, LM.

Greg, The product of a setting sun, a ready camera, and an otherwise rather common subject. I think the contrast between the texture of the net bag and relative smoothness of the ball is what I like about it. One of those spontaneous shots that turn out better than the main shots I was trying for (soccer action). A gift from the photo gods, if you will. Best, LM.

It may have been lucky, Len, but you have to have the eye to notice it or it's just a bag of balls. I love this shot. By the way, from the thumbnail, my first thought was of the lottery balls...you know how they have all of those numbered balls and then one comes out? That's what I was thinking of when I first saw this! :)

Leslie, They were indeed like lottery balls; only trouble was they all dropped in our team's net! :-) I also favour this shot above the action shots I was intending to get. Sometimes the oddball shots win the day. Thanks for responding. Best, LM.

What to photograph at a soccer game during a lull in the playing?  What else?  :-)  Thanks for taking the time to cruise through my portfolio.  It's much appreciated & makes the posting all worthwhile.  Best, Len
