regis 0 Posted July 19, 2007 Another shot from my recent trip to South Ayrshire coast. As I said before - weather was very whimsy that day so I focused on exploring the beach to find some nice foreground - that could compensate the lack of interesting light. I found this strange stone, covered with loads of green seaweeds. My first impression was it reminded me of a Davy Jones face (Flying Dutchamn's captain from Pirates of Caribbean movie) :) - and it was my first title for this shot - "Davy Jones on Vacation" :D Then I realized some of you may not get my message, so I changed it for a easy one :) Finally at the end of a day the Sun broke through the clouds offering a great array of colours in the sky. I used CPL filter (to cut off some water reflections) + 0.9 GND HE filter to balance the whole exposure. No other photoshop action was necessary. Hope you'll like it. richygale 0 Posted July 20, 2007 super image with great sky, I think maybe I would of tried to make more of this rock, put it more central and of gone a bit closer. Rich. Link to comment
davidclapp 0 Posted July 21, 2007 Forget the blending, this is a flawless use of a graduated filter. strong foreground and pleasing colours make a really great shot piotr. If I wqas there I would possibly have got lower and moved the seaweed boulder in from the right of the frame so I became more of a feature, but a top result and a great addition to your portfolio. thadley 15 Posted July 28, 2007 Super shot and I agree with the other comments. If it was me I would have cut out a bit of that empty sky at the top. Link to comment
