snapshooter 0 Posted July 19, 2007 Another beauty, Micki.I love the out of focus background shapes in this. The reason I cropped to my personal preference are twofold. First to decentalize it and second, because it is so tall in the frame, I just like a broader base than the slim stem. For me, it gives more prominence to the main body of the subject. In any event, you did a great job on both flower pix. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 19, 2007 Well my sweet Micki :):) You are not going to believe it :):) I have the same, not similar, but the same rose Rose with almost the same background!!! ha ha ha Incredible dear Friend :) So, how are you thesedays? I am working on stock photography and selling my photos so I can earn some extra money, that is why I am not so often on PN! But also as you can see PN is getting worst and worst with those stup***d anonymous raters :( For my Dragon lady they gave me 3 times 3/3 and I think that my Friend does not deserve that low rating as she is so beautiful in her maturity :) Be well dear Friend :) Biliana Link to comment
jan_piller 0 Posted July 19, 2007 (Yes - you and the flower!) You really good bokeh in this one! Way to go! I do agree with Doug's crop - the little stem was making it seem top heavy and not supported well. (Like putting a giant lamp on top of a tiny little side table) This is really great! You should put a simple pale border around this to keep all that beatiful bokeh in! Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted July 19, 2007 Bokah ~ I am learning new wonderful words :) YEAH I thought about a border but I am not in my normal setting here on vacation so I went with the "POST it border" HA Plus it is as is and I knew it would be bordered by white. Ok I was Lazy and I was tired and I didn't have my LONG day to work on it ;) HA DOUG you are a master as always! Biliana I am doing good and miss you terribly! You should NOT have got those low ratings but there are young people on PN during summer so ignore them. They do NOT look at the clarity of the pictures but look at the age and the NON breasts of a picture. It is a wonderful picture with great character. Post more pictures of the women in me :) HUGS to all ;) ~ micki Link to comment

joanbn 0 Posted July 25, 2007 Happy to see your flower photos occasionally. This one is a beauty but must agree that it looks better without the long stem. I like the background...sparkles.. Link to comment
