Hi, Dan! Interesting perspective and choice of crop..I would have expected a landscape version, not vertical, but this really works! What lens did you use? Normally I would be a little concerned over the blown highlights in the clouds, but the tones in the building are so incredible that my eyes are drawn there immediately. The architectural detail is stunning and I bet this printed beautifully! Do you print B&W the same way you print out your color shots? A glossy print of the this would be stunning, especially if you matted and framed it just like you did here. Excellent!

Hi Leslie, As always, thank you for the comment. I cropped a bit of distracting stuff off from the right, and a tiny bit from the bottom. I used a 24mm lens, which is my "everyday" lens.

I suppose that this would have been an good oppurtunity to do an HDR image, but I didn't try it. As you might guess it took some effort to get everything in the image to the regime of reasonable densities.

I do print my B&W the same way (epson r2400, k3 inks). I used to use piezography, but I had software problems, so I switched. I usually print onto photo rag paper. It has better archival properties than glossy paper. Also, I just like the "feel" of the photo rag, but glossy does have better blacks, so I guess it is a trade.

This is not a real complaint, because PN is just for enjoyment, but I thought this photo was kind of fun. I put it up at a funny time, so I didn't get many ratings and one of the ratings was a 4/4 (if we all liked the same thing the world would be pretty boring). As a consequence the photo was down pretty far on the list, and I don't think many people got a chance see or comment on it. I guess that makes me appreciate yours, Tim's and Peter's comments that much more.

Thanks again. Dan

P.S. I almost call this one "man with baby carriage," but I thought that might just confuse people.

Daniel, Thank you for the kind comment. I guess I am going to have to retract my statement about not getting many comments on this photo. Thank you all. Dan
