King/Queen of the swamp flora

Handheld and cropped, no filters or gimmicks used. Wouldn't it be great if we could just add a filter or purchase software to make our photos look stunning.

Wow, the composition of this flower made it look like a flower basket hung on 2 visible cords and possibly one of more behind. Cool effect.

Arthur, thanks for your critique, as a naturalist it means a lot.

Also, thank you for your thoughts with the D2X, I'm really glad I went with this and not the Canon. Also, I couldn't have ever achieved this out of the box with the D200. A tad of added saturation and there ya go. Whoever said the D2X(s) was prone to noise was paid by Canon (my opinion).

The D2Xs and here's what happened.

I was going out for shoot yesterday so I placed a newly charged battery in and formatted a 4 GB CF card, cleaned my lens and was off. When I got set-up for the first shot, I could barely see an image through the viewfinder, it was like having it on f/22 and pressing the preview button. Attempting to focus was very slow, it was like the motor wasn't getting enough power. I took the lens off and placed another, same deal. I removed the battery and placed another, I thought maybe the battery was bad, same deal. Went through the menus (screen was bright) and made sure all was on default, same deal.

I thought the CF card was the issue, it wasn't. I can take great photos with the focus set to manual or the focus area off to the farthest points.

I'm attempting to get in touch with Nikon, the wait times are longer than I've had time for up to this point.

Finally got through to a tech person and was told how to do a total reset. He really didn't think it was going to work from my description of the problem and stated that it sounded like it was needing to be send in for service. So, as projected, Reset didn't work so...

I think you should call up Nikon USA immediately. Nikon Forum is not going to do you any good. Did you buy it online or from a local dealer? If it's within 30days and it's a local dealer, they should you give a new replacement.

What type of card did you use?
