i love the transition of color in this big sky. backlit clouds are always beautiful and you captured them perfectly. i wonder if sacrificing some sky from the top to add a little more density of the tree line at the bottom wouldn't be an interesting variation as well. still a great peaceful scene. regards, J.K.

Bob - I really waited for exactly this moment. The clouds were floating very gently. So I had enough time to set up. Shot this handheld, I guess at F16 - ISO200.

 

J.K. - Thanks for the advice. I cropped, as you said. Guess, you are right ;)

The blue contrasted with the orange is so amazing. I'm so impressed by this capture. What a perfect photo to see at the end of the day. Thanks.

The cropped one is more concentrated, but this has more space in it. Did you use any filtering for this one, or is it an unaltered image? Which ever, I love it!

This perspective reminds me of rising above the city in an airplane, above the city's sunset into the darkening blue sky. It's a bit unsettling. It's strange that the focal point is the central cloud instead of the sun or the landscape. It creates an usual tension. You are an original thinker, and I admire that! Regards, Donna

Very beautiful; I like the uncropped version more,but thats personal taste. The contrast between the blue and the orange is very nice.
