davidmccracken 2 Posted July 14, 2007 These were once quite fashionable here on p.n. I wonder if they still are. Feedback appreciated. Link to comment
lizweisiger 0 Posted July 14, 2007 David, what was once fashionable? I'd like to try this technique, I like the clarity and and tone. I think using water in shots like this is a greatly underrated choice. Link to comment
godfather 0 Posted July 14, 2007 Really nice blue tone. There is something odd that fashinates me in this one, maybe cause it looks like 3 dimentional for real. Really good one. Link to comment
glenwoodsherry 0 Posted July 15, 2007 David, I've seen something like this done before, but not this well. I like the blue tones, and the shift from dark to light in the background; feels like I'm looking at a curved surface. Very sharp in the details; is this a macro shot, or a CGI? Forgive me for asking, since I've never done one before. Anyway, cool shot. Glenwood Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted July 15, 2007 Liz,I must admit I do like this type of shot myself. Being honest, this could be better. I simply posted it to gauge opinion. I thank you for giving me yours. Tero, Odd is often a good thing. I am not sure that this is odd enough but thanks for your comment. Glenwood, CGI? Well! Not really macro but certainly close up. The surface is flat. I reckon the reason you think it is curved is due to the lens limitations. Thanks again. Link to comment
fxpe 0 Posted July 15, 2007 Oh reminds me to one of my recent. brilliant, simple and clean. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted July 16, 2007 Thanks Felix, Simple it is, clean perhaps but I think it could be better. Link to comment
someoneelse 1 Posted July 25, 2007 I remember, we have all been there David (I think)it doesn't mean I don't like it, color is fascinating, and drops always give the forms --Els Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted July 25, 2007 They are beautiful and wonderful and brilliant. You are a master and you are great at doing these ABSTRACTS as I have said before. Please keep posting them. Do not stop as PN needs to have this for the newbies. I love the silver blue tones of this picture with the slight feel of tilt that the picture has. I love the way you feel like you are almost in there with the picture. It also almost feels like you are looking at liquid mercury. Very well presented. _______________ Also thank you for commenting on my FORK picture. Just so you know the picture was taken at "Chili's", the restaurant . Since your signature is a chili I thought you might think that was kind of ironic. :) ~ micki Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted July 26, 2007 Els, I guess it is sometimes OK to go where most have tread before. Thanks. Micki, Forgive me if I was a little hard on you but I do believe in writing about what I see whether that is in pictures or words. Thanks for stopping by and appreciating both this picture and my chilli. Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted July 26, 2007 You could never be to hard on me (I am always all smiles when someone is honest with me). YOU are a master photographer and I too get frustrated when someone like YOU gets thrown in a wastebasket here on PN. I really appreciate your honest critique (including the honest critique in the aesthetics and origionality) as this picture is just a canvas to do it over some day when I have better lighting. Your abstracts are always some of my favortie here on PN. I don't go to RATE RECENT enough to find them but when I do check your folder from time to time I do see what great masterpieces you have made. Always great when you make a comment! ~ micki Link to comment
