blago 0 Posted March 8, 2002 I am feeling it close to what I used to see. You could crop it a little from the bottom (and from the top?) and saturate more the reds, IMO. Blago Link to comment
mark_smith12 0 Posted March 8, 2002 It is a nice picture but doesn't really have a central subject. The two arches are nice but neither really serves as an anchor for the picture. The colors, while varied, are never really strong enough to stand on their own. The brickwork above the near arch and to the right of it is close but that deep color is not present elsewhere in the picture. There are a good variety of textures, the rockwork, the grass, and the brick, that make this interesting. Some things I would try if I were to take this picture again: 1. Maybe a polarizing filter or something else to bring out the colors a little. 2. Play with the depth of field. I think this could be a strong picture if the focus faded somewhere in that grassy strip. This would blur the background into a mosaic of color while your stronger foreground colors would stand out more. In addition, first archway would then serve as an anchor for the print. On a side note, where can I find more information on this fortress? What era is it from? Link to comment
