johnoberry 0 Posted July 11, 2007 Shot this with the intention of making it a B/W. Played with it a lot. What do you think of it. Link to comment

dee 14 0 Posted July 12, 2007 This looks alot like an IR photo. Very nice! My only concern would be the angle that the shed is on... Seems a bit off. Otherwise the tones are fantastic! I had slight reservations about the really bright spots to the upper right of the shed (in the trees), but I now kinda like it like that. Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted July 12, 2007 John, my reaction was similar to Darren's. There is a great tonal range here and even though there are blown out highlights, it does seem to work for me, particularly in the trees. I think it's because there is good depth and detail and the high contrast renders a type of drawing. I'm not sure about the roof highlights though. The strong shadows on the shed also add interesting detail. I'm sure it's a subject that holds much potential; perhaps a closeup of the front end of the shed and maybe a partial glimpse inside. johnoberry 0 Posted July 12, 2007 Darrel, One of the filters I used is a IR emulator, I threw a twist on it though. I made the image gray scale, then ramped it back up to 8 bit. Then I make the image a negative before applying the IR filter. This seems to allow for a more subdued effect. The angle is bad, but kind of stuck with the lesser of two evils. When I had the roof line straight, the doors looked strange. But I guess I will have to play with it some more. Thanks for the great critique. Link to comment
