davidmccracken 2 Posted July 11, 2007 Perhaps strange but I hope you like it. Feedback appreciated. Link to comment
expats 0 Posted July 11, 2007 Excellent shot. Her face bracketed between the curve of her shoulders and chair back is genius. Congrats. Nice to see someone here from my neck of the woods. Cheers, Stevo Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 11, 2007 At first, I sort of didn't like the crop. After looking at it a while, I decided I did like it, since the crop cuts off the upper curve of her head and the lower curve of the chair back, giving it more balance. And like another photo of yours I commented on (can't remember which one, though), you've achieved remarkable symmetry here with the crop. Great color, and I like the white background, of course. One thing that does puzzle me. If this is the chair back, where is the seat of the chair? And last...but certainly not least...the young lady is beautiful. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted July 12, 2007 This is a shot I like myself and for the reasons that you like it. It is good to be appreciated. Thanks. Jim, First of all I have to agree with you that the girl is stunning. I am also aware you prefer me using a white background rather than a black one. Maybe I will change my mind later. I am a little unsure why you can't work where the seat of the chair is. She is crouched on it. Thanks for your input. It is always appreciated. Pep, I think the model is the star. Thanks for stopping by. Link to comment
owen_omeara 1 Posted July 12, 2007 The whole image works for me especially the composition and balance. I know you are not supposed to let the beauty of the model influence too much but this cannot be ignored in this instance, -Cheers Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted July 12, 2007 Glenwood, I always appreciate it when you stop by. Thanks! Owen, You are a master. If you say this is good, I will believe you. It seems I am uploading more and more photos that I like myself. Maybe I should have done that all along! Thanks a lot! Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted July 13, 2007 I get it now. For whatever reasons, I was thinking the curved part of the chair was the back and that you had shot at a downward angle. My mistake. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted July 13, 2007 Hell Owen, You give me undeserved compliments all the time... thought I would get my own back! Just teasing. I don't say things I don't mean... unless I say, "It's my round." Jim, If I ever come to your house... I'LL STAND!!! Link to comment
blackdogstudio 1 Posted July 15, 2007 Love this almost symmetric composition. Really nice how her "bangs" and leftward gaze adds subtle asymmetric dynamism and resolves the visual tension. Very well done, David. Regards. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted July 15, 2007 I have to be honest and say I had to ask someone about 'bangs.' I have never heard that term before. As for her leftward gaze, I think you mean right. Her head is very slightly to her left and so her gazw is to the right. It is good to know someone actually studied the photograph. Thanks a lot. Link to comment
Elstad 8 Posted February 27, 2010 I'm quite liking this one David...A most intriguing POV and of course I love her direct gaze. Link to comment
