Hi Micki,

I love the bronze color of a sunset... This is very nice with the silhouette of the bench and figure.

The beautiful orange tone is warm and inviting. This picture is like a tapestry composed of different layers of rich details. Great capture of silhouettes complemented by a relaxing mood. I feel that I could sit in this surrounding for hours.

This is actually my husband sitting there (as Joan you probably know) and he is in the way of my sunset shots. He is taking pictures himself and so I just click away. I LOVE getting him in my shots and so I always get him in some GREAT sunset shots. I will probably end up doing a book called "HIM and his love afair with the SUNSET" HA

It's a beauty, Micki. Like the composition and the delicacy of the foreground grases in dead sharp silhouette.

This image has a lot working for it. You might consider cropping it for maximum impact by removing 1/4 to 1/3 of the dark region from the right. Best regards, -CM

Hey, only love can eclipse the sun. I like the triangular composition with the reeds, the long line of the bench and your husband "light of your life" aligned with the diagonal with the sun. Beautiful shot.

Clayton, I tried doing just that and it lost something. It put the sun more in the middle (which you heart and eyes didn't like). Something when you look at this larger you notice about this crop works like you are peeking around the corner sneeking peek at him. It almost has to be that big for the affect to work.

Also because the dock he is sitting on is a bit unlevel the long crop evens the look out a big more. If I squared it up to much all the lines look wrong. The real picture is a bit larger and I cropped it down.

You may copy it and try cropping it yourself to see. Feel free to upload it and let me see what you are talking about as you may be on to something I didn't see when I tried to do it myself. Always willing to learn something or get a different feel on my pictures :) ~ micki

Hey Micki, Nice work here. I also wanted to invite you to take a crack at my window box shot. Tou said something about how it might look after some PS. Well if you want, I can send you a higher resolution jpg??? Have at it, I'd be interested to see what you can do.

This guy is always getting in the way of your superior sunset images. It's obvious that he isn't even shooting the sun here. Maybe you should leave him in the van until the last light of the sun is on the horizon; that's all he wants anyway.

Great shot. I, too, like the silouhette of the scene. It works much better than the natural capture with more light. You have eclipsed me on sunsets now and for that I applaud you. And, if you wish, I'll sign your copy of "Him and His Love Affair With Sunsets. Limited Edition".

I say EXCELLENT, and mean it, but PN would not let me. SORRY! 6/6 this time, but it is a excellent shot with great colours, and composition. I think this will be a candidate for top photos. Cheers to that! Best regards, Torfinn.
