I was very interested in the outcome of this image of my wife.

Glowing Edged and Inverted in Photoshop CS2.

Any constructive criticism or praise is very welcome. Thank you!

I like playing with that filter too, but for me getting an image I like where it has a significant impact is difficult. This picture is unusual, but for me just doesn't make it. I suggest copying the background layer, applying the filter to the new layer, and make the blending mode lighten and adjust the opacity of the layer.

Ryan:

This is an interesting effect and looks more like art than a photograph. It is pretty cool, but to be honest, I'm not absolutely crazy about it. It may look

even more interesting if you put back her unaltered eyes into this image!

Either way, it certainly demonstrates alot of creativity. See you later.

afraid you went out on a limb...and it snapped off. i appreciate anyone who is willing to put it on the line and go for it...but honestly...don't be mad at me...but it's just plain ugly. still be friends please? :)

I asked for constructive feecback, and it was given. John, still friends, yes! Looks like it wasn't too smart a move posting this one. Makes me think twice about posting my warm-hued tri-toned images...what can I say, every now and then I need to get away from the ho-hum of touching up images and just make one wacky. The liquify filter is my best friend for caricatures!

Thanks again folks, keep checking back!

Ryan , you have two characteristics that are apparent and that will serve you well the rest of your life...if you don't swerve from them. first, you are teachable...which in turn means that you are not arrogant and that you are humble. secondly, you are creative...willing to try new things...willing to have them criticized. for me...and for most people who shoot pictures...their photographs are " a part of them"...almost like their offspring...their children. what parent wants to hear that their child is ugly? it hurts to hear criticism ...unless you're a Vulcan... but it's a great teacher. stick with your photography...take a bunch of pics...post a bunch of pics...and continue to post and talk to your peers! a year from now...you won't recognize your own work, it will be so much improved...and simultaneously, you'll find that some of your early work may just be some of your best work!

Well said John!

Ryan, thank you for not only the comments you kindly left on my photo's but also the one you left on my portfolio, i was very humbled by them.

Now, with this altered image ... lol ... it is not, as you claimed on my portfolio, 'crap' ... hehehe ... its is experimentation, going outside the norm and stepping out of the box. Its these atributes that make Artists and as such there is much to learn and show.

Also, i've had a good long look through your website over the last few days and there is a lot i like, keep up the good work and share it with us.

Tony.
