I had often noticed the upmarket Gents' boutique 'working style' and found the name a bit ironic. Yesterday I was photgraphing the Cleaners' Union protest and thought to bring the two elements together. In NZ's wealthiest electorate - the minimum wage earners are easily forgotten. Thanks for taking the trouble to view my work Link to comment
bartimeus1 0 Posted July 10, 2007 I very much enjoy your image pair. These are from the same place and yet, from the different universes... Very effective comparison. The tones of the "Working class"-image, are a bit muddy at my monitor, but otherwise this is a striking document. Well seen and shot image! Alpo Link to comment
httpwww.photo.netphoto1664881442 0 Posted July 11, 2007 Hi Alpo, thanks for your comments on both shots; I pumped up the ISO in shooting the union members (so to speak). I wanted the grittier look to the shot, leaving the boutique to look glossy and urbane. It's an experiment of sorts - I've not posed multiple images alongside each other for effect before. Like many of my pictures, these are likely to evolve as I find better ways to express such things. Cheers Link to comment
