Lace making is traditional in Malta. In fact, the tradition was

further encouraged by the wife of a British Governor during an

economic downturn to boost home industries. Now Gozo lace is very

famous, perhaps because the pace of life is more relaxed in Gozo than

the rest of Malta, and nimble fingers have more time.

This lady is making some very pretty bookmarks.
