jayme 0 Posted July 9, 2007 Playing in Painter :) Critiques always welcome :) I painter over the original in Corel Painter with Artist Impressionistic brushes. Varying size as I felt appropriate. I then outlined some areas, such as the wire around the bottle & the edges of the bottle, leaves & flowers. I will attach a copy of the original. I cropped slightly. Thanks for looking :) Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted July 10, 2007 Thank you. I bought this at a local farmer's market. Old bottle with a new twist, suction cup attached to the back. So, I stuck it on my kitchen window with a flower:) Corel Painter is a lot of fun & very addictive :) Link to comment
mferencz8 0 Posted July 10, 2007 The original is quite attractive, but i like the painted version as well. The possibilities are endless with computers. Link to comment
lalit 0 Posted July 10, 2007 This is absolutely artistic. The original has some reflection on the left which also exist t some extent in the painted version. It would be great to have the final version without it. Great work. Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted July 11, 2007 Thank you Mark & Lalit. Lalit- you are right about the reflection, it could be easily fixed. Funny, I thought the exact same thing after I posted it :) Smack.... I could have had a V8! LOL! What was I thinking? My only excuse is I was just so involved I couldn't see the forest for the trees. That's why we post for critique, to see if others see the same or different things we see :) Anyway, I'm thinking of printing this on Epson Velvet Art paper, kind of like a watercolor paper. Any opinions on that? I went to a lady's art studio a few months back & next to her wonderful paintings she had a photograph of the thing that she painted. Along with the photo, she had a written explanation about the painting. She gave the why's, the when's, etc., kind of a history of the painting. It was rather interesting to she her painting next to a photograph with a history. Way too expensive for me! But it was interesting! Link to comment

jayme 0 Posted July 11, 2007 :) You're so full of it! This reminds me of something I did my first year of high school Art class. I was definately not good, persistent was more the word :) I signed up only because the annual class trip was to the Chicago Art Museum :) (1971 :) I did take 2 Art classes in College. Art Appreciation & Art History. One instructor taught both classes. He was very funny. He stopped me one day & told me I needed to change my major from Nursing to Art. I blew him off, but somehow he may have been right. I have enjoyed being a nurse and I've definately had to be creative at times. (Doctors today are so much less arrogant than they use to be:) It use to be a real challenge working with them. Kind of like working with a teenager :) Very unpredictable :) But anyway, thank you for the compliment. If I could go back & change one thing in my life I would have been a little more confident in my artistic talents & while I wouldn't change my years as a nurse (too many great memories of helping my patients), I would have pursued my interest in Art a few years earlier & a lot more passionately :) C'est la vie! (One of my favorite French sayings :) I just got a new Wacom tablet yesterday, my old one is about 6 years old. They have definately made some improvements. For lack of a better word the "drag" factor on the pen is more like writing on real paper than my old one. I can't waited to really use it! Thanks for stopping by! Link to comment
