Dale M 1 Posted July 8, 2007 This has a very nice synergy to it, perhaps helped by the increased intensity of the sky in the empty space. Mesmerising! Link to comment
katherineerickson 0 Posted July 8, 2007 I love days like this but they aren't always easy to turn into an interesting photo. You have done a great job with this one. I really like it. Regards Katherine Link to comment
anthony_r 0 Posted July 8, 2007 very nice. The santa hat (appears as one) is telling also. Link to comment

carolinepetters 0 Posted July 8, 2007 ahhhh thats what I feel when looking at this image. Its relaxing which seems to be consciences. The simpliest images are the most powerful for me. Perfect!!! Link to comment
oneteacup 0 Posted July 8, 2007 Simple and beautiful. Even the head band fit in with the horizontal lines of the benches. A neat photograph. Link to comment
sarahkane 0 Posted July 8, 2007 Tim, congrats to you on the feedback for this image, you deserve it! Great shot, I love the Symmetry and the Asymmetry, not something you see in the same photo! Tonal contrast is fabulous, all around superb! Best Wishes, ~S~ Link to comment
tholte 16,678 Posted July 8, 2007 Thanks for all the nice comments! I thought the composition was a little strange with the empty bench and all but am glad that the image is appreciated. I was riding my bicycle and saw the young woman sitting on the bench looking out at a foggy Lake Michigan, I asked her if I could take some photos and she graciously said yes. Link to comment
AJHingel 127 Posted July 8, 2007 Indeed an illustration of the rule that simplicity is a very forceful tool of expressions. Here there is no animation such as flying birds or walking cats. Just a lonely girl with a white ribbon sitting on a bench surrounded by the black lace of branches against fog and an empty sky. Very good. Tim, offer her a print of the photo. Link to comment
bob bennett 0 Posted July 9, 2007 Mr. Holte, Your eye is keen, sharp and true. I'm astonished at how often you hit the mark. Best Wishes,Bob Bennett P.S. I would like to introduce Oscar http://www.pbase.com/bobbennett/image/75340459/original This is a first cut, and I'm not happy with it yet. I'm working on a B&W version that, at least to me, holds much more promise. Link to comment
tt07 0 Posted August 3, 2007 This is Excellent Composition with Great artistic value & Creativity. The two trees at each side of the frame gives effect of boundary & in the midst there is open space - the person sitting on the bench looking at the empty space signifying some philosophical meaning... may be touched by Grandeur of Life and its unlimited possibilities to explore n grow and take refuge in the Serenity n Poise without getting distracted by the boundaries. Thats it! Keep it up!!! Link to comment
sheryl_w__blue_mt._ 0 Posted March 23, 2008 each separate part (ie...trees, tree, woman in hat on the bench, ground, bench, trees, tree) of the image helps to create one great picture)... I think the bw-greytones really set it off.... cool... regards Link to comment
