I sat and tried to figure out a silly theory today that is called the VC theory (see shattered for more back story).

Regardless, I realized today while writing down pages of information that I personally have NOT PICKED up a pencil in over two months. I have not written with my own hands anything but maybe a check in a checkbook.

Because of a photo assignment I had to chosen to do I actually picked up a pencil and wrote and studied something that I had not done in probably ten years. I got off the computer. I worked and studied how something worked (a theory of shattering). I actually tried to use my mathmatical brain a bit.

Go Figure.

I wonder what would happen if I picked up an old camera and not a digital one?

The "shattering" series are great Micki, but this is my fav. Great colors, sharpness and dof. Ah, IMO you are very creative ;)

Best regards.

PN won't let me rate it appropriate. 7/7

PS: OK! Done, anonymously. ;)

I liked this one beccause the pieces were popping out and the colors were so clear in the middle but then I was going so MAD last night anyway.

Thought I'd commented on this earlier, but I guess not. The VC Theory is well known. An object can sometimes implode under the weight of its own color. This happens with stars or any other brightly colored object (such as crayons). You're very fortunate not to have been sucked into a 'black hole'. In this image I can see two of them on the left. I can also see your verbal calculations on the page, which will one day be worth millions (like the table napkin on which Einstein scribbled).

Yes I had to study it in I think it was advances chemestry? Oh I can't remember what class but I had to prove something with it and I chose it with bright colors and I remember doing something outrageous with egg shells.

When this came up I thought HMMM I'll try and write some of this down and do something with it and tried to look it up and couldn't find it. I found some of it in wikapedia but I was so frustrated that it wasn't in simple terms.

I wanted a diagram of it and couldn't find it.

YEP I did go crazy as I wanted to do an experiement and couldn't find one to do so HERE you go!! THIS WORKED! HA! :)

GLAD you at least knew something about it and I am not so crazy after all. My brain is somewhat fried and since math and science used to be my strong subjects (before stupid seizures) I sometimes wonder if I dreamed some of this stuff up. Thank you for not thinking I have completely gone mad. I mean thank you for knowing about this ~ you can still think I have gone mad! he he

I try to visit my friends from time to time. This is an excellent idea . The less you capture self-portraits , the more you paint "self portrait" images . Go on this way. PS. I am touched with your comments. Thank you.

I like this one the best. The red fleck of color actually appears to be in mid-air. Well captured. And the subject is now my ego. Thanks.

I have to agree with Michael that this IS one of your best compositions. the balance of color and and depth of field harmonize so well in this shot. the shattered pencil next to the sharp one is an excellent contrast. bravo micki. take care, J.K.
