j.k._york 0 Posted July 5, 2007 where were you to capture this Alpo? lovely shot. lots of energy with the full sails in the wind and the diagonal works so well. looks like one would need skill to navigate around those shoals. excellent, J.K. Link to comment
bartimeus1 0 Posted July 6, 2007 I was at the top deck of the cruiser. We were just arriving to the Maarianhamina-port, at the islands between Finland and Sweden. There are literally tens of thousands of little islands and shoals in front of the Finnish coastline. So true, to avoid the mishaps, one must really know how to navigate and master the boat. This is a German sailing boat. Link to comment

torfinn 0 Posted July 6, 2007 Another great shot, Alpo. Wonderful colours, composition, and mood. Just buy that lens, but dont even think of handheld at 500mm. I think I have to get me a new tripod too. The one I have are not to good. It is kind of lightweight. Not steady with that lens of 1,9Kg?s. It is not to long but have not got me a big enough bag yet. It has its own for the moment. It is around 20-25cm, so I do not need that really big one, but heavy, and long at 500mm. Best regards, Torfinn. Link to comment
lizweisiger 0 Posted July 6, 2007 Just Beautiful, Alpo. I love how you captured the boat turning, with the sails full out. Its power is evident. You do have a most unusual talent for finding great shots - or do they find you? Best regards, Liz Link to comment
