lonebearimages 0 Posted July 5, 2007 Dave, I haven't the foggiest regarding the species, but it is one heck of a fine shot. Wonderful detail, and perfect exposure. Just lovely! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
dave_dube 10 Posted July 5, 2007 Thanks Chris! I was just amazed at how long and far this guy could fly, unbelievable. This is the last time I chase one of these around 3 acres. Link to comment

jayme 0 Posted July 14, 2007 In order to critique something like this image, one must have used a macro lens & then tried to capture the wind at the same time :)You did very, very well. Butterflies just don't stand still for very long (unless you glued his feet to the leaf? :). Besides the butterfly, two things I really like about this image: 1-The terrific separation from background you achieved with his little antennae 2-The little dot of red color in the lower left of the image, suggests a flower of sorts. Anyway, this is very, very nice. If this were mine I would adjust a few things. First, the exposure of the butterfly is spot on but, as you know when photography something so light on a dark background the background usually suffers, thus bracketing. If you shot this in RAW you are set, if not then I would adjust the background in PS & leave the little butterfly alone. As usual, it is easier for me to show than tell (I tend to get wordy :). I am adding an image to show you what I mean. Otherwise, terrific capture! Link to comment

jayme 0 Posted July 14, 2007 Not sure why the image didn't show. Try, try again :)Oh no, now I see! Sorry I had loaded a .tif file, (shaking my head :) It was early, I was drinking coffee, etc. What was I thinking??? :) Anyway, I couldn't resist playing in Painter with this one :) Link to comment
dave_dube 10 Posted July 15, 2007 Jayme ~ thank you for the Gift! It came out very nice and makes me want to jump into Painter again. I do a photo every once in awhile, not frequently enough to remember what I had learned from my prior visit. My right brain just isn't there, probably because I tap into it so infrequently due to our professions. Thanks again, Dave Link to comment
