This in another shot taken on my recent trip to Isle of Skye. I put

the following info with the last shot, but let me put it again here -

for those who had no chance to read it before.

The Storr is a rocky hill on the Trotternish peninsula of the Isle

of Skye. The hill presents a steep rocky eastern face overlooking

the Sound of Raasay, contrasting with gentler grassy slopes to the

west. The Storr is prime example of the Trotternish landslip, the

longest such feature in Great Britain. The area in front of the

cliffs of The Storr is known as The Sanctuary. This has a number of

weirdly shaped rock pinnacles, the remains of ancient volcanic

plugs. One of the most famous of these is known as The Old Man of

Storr. The morning was simply amazing. I was there with my friend

and we took off about 3:30 in the morning - just to get to the top

well before the sunrise, and have some time to find a proper spot.

This place is such an amazing, almost lunar, landscape so the

possibilities are almost endless. When we reached the top we

encountered virtually four seasons there (cold wind, heavy rain,

hail - but, what's important - amazing light). There was nothing but

pure magic happening in the sky. Your comments/critiques much

appreciated.

This is very nicely done! Wonderful composition and exposure, and a great sky to boot! If you're ever in the southwestern United States, do go and visit Shiprock, New Mexico; the geology is very similar, and you'll find features just like this in a high desert environment. All of the internal volcanic plumbing features exposed by erosion. Great work. Cheers! Chris

Thank you Chris.

Well - it's hell of a journey to get to your place :), but who knows - maybe someday :) Thanks for your advice.

I'm glad you like the photo. Honestly, I was on my back down to the car, completely wet after that cloud you see in the distance gave me a solid performance :) Then I noticed that sky was clearing out and decided to see what's was going to come.

Thank you, Piotr, for your critique of my "Canada is Heaven" shot. Wow... you are a very talented photographer, as your portfolio proves! Very inspiring! I love the composition, clarity and colours of this photo. I think you've achieved and excellent balance between your foreground and midground elements. The craggy rocks in the midground remind me of early paintings of the lunar surface, when people thought the mountains were all tall and thin. I always like to give constructive feedback in my critiques, but really, I can't think of a way to improve this shot. Perfect work, Piotr!
