rogerleekam 0 Posted July 4, 2007 Hasan, excellent macro. I love the narrow dof which gives the impression of a fearsome monster emerging from the mist. Just the head and two forelegs being in focus is very effective. Link to comment
Donna Stavis 0 Posted July 4, 2007 Wow! Hasan, where I live people step on spiders so easily. After looking at this spider --that is so cute and has a beautiful face that seems to show personality--I can't imagine anyone doing it any harm. Everything about this is wonderful. Best regards. jeffl7 0 Posted July 4, 2007 Donna's comment cracks me up. I agree. You captured the cuddly side of spiders. This is perfectly captured. Link to comment
hy 0 Posted July 5, 2007 Richard, Ger, Janusz, Roger, Donna, Tolo, Jeff. Many thanks for your kind and enchanting words. Much appreciated, really! First, I love almost every animal on this planet. The most of them are harmless. The few attacking us, do it, because we narrow their habitats. This little guy is/was my friend, really! Everytime, a "always-annoying-by-their-nature-fly" came over to my kitchen window, he jumped up and carried him away. :) Once, I had enough time to capture it: http://gallery.photo.net/photo/6155206-lg.jpg http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=6107420 Best regards. Donna Stavis 0 Posted July 5, 2007 Hasan, My grandmother was really sweet and tough. She lived on a farm. One day I was visiting her and a nasty black spider--really big--came in with the firewood. I almost jumped out of my shoes because of fear. She picked it up with her hand and took him outside. I never forgot that. I like the fact that you're gentle with creatures and show how we should value them. Cool message. 7/7 (but the system won't allow me!!!!) Link to comment

hy 0 Posted July 5, 2007 Many thanks for your nice contributions. Really much appreciated. BUT Is this shot really that bad????? I really don't understand the correlation between comments and ratings. What is wrong with this photo? Please feel free to give me 3s, but then explain why you think, that it's beneath average, aswell - so I can improve my work. Thanks in advice. Best regards PS: These jumping spiders are 3-4mm Link to comment
tidris 0 Posted July 5, 2007 Hassan. Thank you for your comments on my macro of a little insect. I can see that you have gone one further by snapping up the magical eyes of this spider. It really does look like from the outer space. Congratulations. Taha Link to comment
bob_belanger 1 Posted July 5, 2007 This guy is not exactly what I would call cuddly, a bunny is cuddly, a kitten or a puppy is cuddly, even a hippo can be cuddly. This guy is scarry. I wonder what he sees with all those eyes. Nice composition and perfect dof. Link to comment

mvisionphotography 1 Posted July 6, 2007 You captured this one with almost a sexy pose ~ eeek did I say that. The softness is wonderful! When I was young (eight or nine) I used to pick up great big Tarantula's and they never harmed me and I found them to be very nice to hold. When one is afraid of something their fear is what they are afraid of. The same with snakes. Now of course don't get me anywhere near a scorpian, that is a different story. This picture, I absolutely adore! I can say that with all honesty! ~ micki Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted July 6, 2007 You really did an amazing job with this one giving it some personality. I am not fond of spiders because as a kid I was traumatized by the "tarantulas" at my grandparent's farm in Costa Rica. Link to comment
antanas.strazdas 0 Posted July 6, 2007 Perfectly done. Very interesting mood, best regards. Link to comment
