I never really noticed the rock's colors when I took this shot, I

was focused on the mini-glacier

wonderful, so simple and yet so effective.

very nice composition and color, but the highlights are blown out. I'd burn in the rock in the foreground, and the hot spots on the ice.

I know virtually nothing about PhotoShop, other than cropping and adjusting curves. Even the simple concept of chopping the picture in half, making the top resonate with turquiose and meld them back together is a mystery to me. For now I concentrate on getting the shots, storing and filing them so I have some raw material to work with once I learn that whole digital darkroom thing.

The variety of color and form in the foreground is very appealing.
