Very cool shot. Love the B&W you chose... love the album too. My students have no idea what a record is... lol. I feel so old. :(

I like this one better than my album pile shot!

GREAT High key black and white! I can hear the "thump thump thump thump" & the first lines of "Breathe" as I look at this! Excellent clarity & detail.

Your composition has my eyes darting all over the place! Beautifully clean shot. There is NO better voice than the woman's on THE GREAT GIG IN THE SKY! I gotta break out some old albums!! The NOT Forgotten is right!

Dark Side of the Moon... hmmm

I think I had this on 8 Track :) All smiles!

I love the silver tone of this picture! Very nice!

I really feel like it is right here on my computer and able to be played.

LOVE IT!

My mom got me a Record Player for my birthday so I could play all my 45's and I was thrilled.

This is a great nostalgic picture and you can put it right next to KELLEN'S! :) ~ micki

Julius, a 78 record takes me back almost to my childhood! I didn't think Pink Floyd are old enough to be on a 78. An excellent image in terms of composition nd right on topic - can just feel my fingers dropping the needle gently onto the record, and hear the first hiss as it makes contact. Nostalgia isn't what it used to be!

Ah, nostalgia! Great fit for the title Julius. Also, great choice of album! I like the composition and exposure, and particularly like the sheen on either side of the record.

I also have Glen Cambell and Tom Jones. Is that closer?

:) ~ I have lots of 45's of the Carpenters and the Beatles and others like Willie Nelson, C.W. McCall and such.

Wonderful...the PS treatment really suits the subject...

Seems to be a lot of music themes running through these.

Ahhhh... I love Pink Floyd...

But the only thing I forget when listening to them is what I was saying... Hmmmm I wonder if there is another reason for that?!? LOL!

Nicwe clean crisp image, great reflection in the LP, and really nice tones.

You forget to CLEAN the needle and the record.

The first time my daughter listened to a record. She was saying "what is that sound". It was the click click click of the record going around.

It is a sweet sound that you don't get when listening to a CD.

It is funny as I have a NEW fancy BOSE like record player and I put on one of my old records and listen to something and you hear the slight fuzzy sound of the needle and the record but the songs are so true. The seperation of the mixing is different but the sound is raw.

It is like looking at a picture not saturated or touched.

We forget how music once was.

The scratch noise the needle makes when it is time for the record to be over.

The smell of a record (VINYL).

It is forgotten and we are bringing them back.

If you can find the records that is...

I have so many that I don't even know who they are. We sit and listen to them and go YUCH! But we still listen.

It's not to late to go listen to some of your favorite bands from way back... :)

Julius!!! I was just commenting to Leslie yesterday by email, that Pink Floyd is one of my all time fav's!! The composition would be perfect in itself, but adding my favorite band makes it hard for me to "Breathe"

Records are ingrained in my memory but easy to forget day to day. Remember when you got to talk about Side 1 and Side 2, how Side 2 of Abbey Road was like one long classical symphony. Or earlier, the flip side of the hit or the B side. I still have a bunch of casettes (yes, my car has a cd and a tape player - 2000) that were made from vinyl and, Micki, I love listening to them just to hear the occasional scratches. Ahh, those wonderful scratches. And remember when you couldn't walk too hard because the needle would skip! Thanks for the stroll down memory lane, Julius. And, Roger, I do remember those 78s. Now, that was when I was just a little guy. My parents had a few 78s, mostly Jewish comedians (HA!). But I remember my first 45s. The Everly Brothers Wake Up Little Suzie (does anyone remember if the flip side was Bye Bye Love or All I Have to do is Dream?) and a great little 45 that was always near and dear to my heart in grade school . . . Seven Little Girls Sittin' In The Back Seat Kissin' And A Huggin' With Fred!

Great album if I remember it came in black plastic with some free posters or was that whish you where here, no that was the postcard!!!!. I love the image it looks great in B&W. My record player is in the loft and all my lps were flooded a few years ago so the covers have all gone I digitised them all last year so I can listent to poor quality scatched music on MP3. well done Rich.

Julius, great idea pulled off well. My only suggestions is that the lighting leads out of the frame. Otherwise great. O

This is great, Julius! The tones and contrasts are excellent. Your idea is very well conceived and executed--Jason

Is that a big scratch I see across that vinyl?! Hey I gotta disagree about the album choice though - that's not forgotten -I listen to it all the time! Great job on this!

I remember changing the needle...what a pain! I remember the sound just before the music would start and at the end when it was over. I remember counting the grooves to pick the song I wanted to hear. I remember pulling the vinyl out of the sleeve and out of the cardboard cover. Now I wish I'd played with a few in my parents' collection while I was back home over the past week. Sigh. Thanks for the memories, Julius! This is wonderful in B&W and the composition/crop is perfect. :)

The combination of a classic album and a classic machine make this a "classic" moment in time. Really brought the good times flooding back. I loved putting in a fresh needle, seemed to make the sound sooo much better. Thank you.
